Master Bath Reveal

Here it is! Our beautiful new Master Bathroom! We were able to start using it in late July, but there were a few little things that had to be finished up after that, including the install of the beautiful glass shower wall/door. I’m still bargain shopping for some new cabinets/storage to replace the old wicker drawers that were hand-me-downs from pre-marriage days but, on the whole, I am so pleased with this renovation! Most of the updated accessories (floor mats, towels, drawer pulls, etc.) are from Target. The new light fixtures were purchased on Amazon with an ‘open box’ discount, so they were very affordable. The frames are all from Ross, with photos by Lorrie Anne Photography (from when Moira was 5 months… we need…

2018 Summer Reading List

As mentioned in my previous post (Currently: May 2018), I’ve put together a Summer Reading List to help me get a few more books under my belt during the “summer break”. I use quotes because it’s not really too different from the other months of the year, aside from warmer weather and a few more outdoor activities with the kiddos. But my workload rarely, if ever, slows down and with Cormac and Moira in summer camp three mornings a week, our schedule will stay similar to the school year. With the exception of Thursday and Friday for my “Summer Adventure” schedule (more on that later!), we’ll be trying to maintain our routine of work, play, and plenty of NAPS this summer. 🙂 Here’s what I’ve…

Clean Makeup Updates

It’s been several months since my initial post about my new all-natural makeup routine, but I’ve added a few items to my kit, so I wanted to share! Top of the list is my favorite new foundation: Lavera 2 in 1 Compact Foundation (Ivory #1) – $22.00 I love the coverage and application of this cream-to-powder foundation, it works great for my skintone and covers a lot better than my previous foundation. It’s similar to the Covergirl cream to powder compact that I used before switching to all natural, and I’m thrilled to have found a replacement that works just as well without any harmful toxins on my face! Here’s a little more about Lavera: “In Europe, there are actually stricter regulations for which ingredients…

Currently: May 2018

Here we are almost finished with May and I’m just trying to keep up! Spring has blossomed into full-blown summer heat here in northern Indiana, and we are soaking it up with late afternoon pool visits and plenty of outdoor play in the backyard. Planning: Summer Reading List The school year isn’t technically over until June, so I haven’t started reading any new books yet, but I’m planning on cracking open plenty of new covers over the coming months! I always enjoy reading, but it’s kind of fun to have a list to work through… without having to worry about writing a report at the end of the summer! One summer in Chicago, a few years back, I visited a used bookstore at the beginning…

Reagan Margaret: 6 Months

It’s hard to believe that 6 months has gone by since Reagan joined our family… but there you have it! Half a year gone in the blink of an eye. The first year always goes by so quickly. Babies are growing and developing constantly, and we are scrambling to adapt to their changing schedule — it’s hard to make myself stop and take some time to enjoy and appreciate all the crazy and amazing moments we’ve been given. Even this little 6-month photo shoot was a bit tricky to fit in between naptimes, preschool pick-up, projects and chores… but well worth it! The lighting wasn’t the best and she was squirming all over the place (motion blur!), but I captured a few of her signature…
