Nothing really exciting happened today other than
some random/amusing conversations about zombies and Paradise Lost (in
different contexts, mind you). Got a lovely letter from, as Giles put
it, “my favourite Lesbian lover” (aka Vanessa) and some worthless
letters from Hillsdale about buying books or somesuch nonsense. They
are insane if they think I’m actually going to pay full price for my
books. Ha. I scoff at those silly folk.
So anyway, I’m hoping to catch a concert in Atlanta
before I go–the 12th to be exact–where Red Letter Agent and the
Modern Skirts will be performing (among others, but those are the two
I’d like to hear/see). Anybody wanna go? I already have at least two
takers, so let’s make it a group field trip!
And that’s all for now.

18 days till lift-off…

Try on Red Letter Agent Right Here!

Summer evenings are lovely.

19 days left for me to be 18….how do you suggest I live it up?

So it’s been a busy past couple ‘o’ days due to some long hours at work and so on. Not to mention that during a lightning storm our DSL modem was zapped which means no internet at home for a while (I’m currently on at my dad’s office). I never realized how dependent I am on checking my e-mail at least twice daily….even if I don’t get anything….which is sad….and yet I still insist on checking it! Habit, you might say? No. Just false hopes. Although I did get a lovely e-mail from my ex (roommate, that is) concerning our rooming situation for next semester. I do so love hearing from you, Karen.

So today I used my employee privelages at the theatre to see a movie with my sisters: Must Love Dogs. It’s Diane Lane and John Cusack in a cute little romantic comedy and I must say it was quite good. I mean, it’s John Cusack….how could it not be good, right? I didn’t expect much from it, but it certainly was cute. I love movies with happy endings. Especially the second-chance happy ending type….not everyone gets it right on the first shot but at least in the movies they live happily ever after…. even after a divorce. And now I’ve got a portrait to finish and clothes to fold. Joy.

20 days and counting….

Thunder rollin’ in
Waiting for a storm
One long day from
these little moments
leaves only memory.
Front or back–all just as well–
I’d rather sit still here and watch
it come my way.

Listening to LANSING LEE – Another Sky (friend from high school…he’ll be famous one day, just wait)
