I like poppies (although I don’t think orange ones exist). Hence the new layout. And, of course, my consistent tendency to appropriate change as a means of ameliorating visual boredom.

This weekend has been a slow one — but I’ve enjoyed at least 3 hours watching the A&E version of Pride & Prejudice (never fear, a mere 4 hours remain until the joyful reunion of our beloved couple) as well as a “date” with my mother on Saturday night. We grilled salmon and had ourselves a regular gourmet feast. Still working incessantly on plans/itinerary for my study abroad in Italy as well as possible travel plans for the next month or so. Conclusion: Money is a necessary evil.

Back from a relaxing weekend at the lake, and I actually have a teensy bit of color (and not all of it is sunburn!)

I’m feel ready to finish up this week of work and really get into summer mode. This summer’s feeling a little different, though, because I still have SO much to get accomplished as far as preparing for Cortona and making sure I everything goes smoothly for when I get back to Hillsdale . . .

Still having fun, though, and definitely enjoying being home.

Nobody comments on my site anymore. That’s sad. Must be getting boring…-er.

I’ve been so busy since being home, that updates here have fallen to the bottom of my agenda.

So far summer has been pretty packed:

First day of work at Cherokee Family Pratice (my father’s practice where I am working as a receptionist)

First wedding of the summer – Congratulations to MaryBeth and Andrew! It was a lovely ceremony and served to make me happy for them and jealous at the same time.

Three graduations in two weekends (Giles, Vivian, Heath)and one this weekend too (Go Jonathan!)!

First trip to Lake Lanier to stay at the Weaver’s Lakehouse over Memorial day holiday (couldn’t be more excited!)

First summer reading book: Persuasion, by Jane Austen

First new movie seen: The Ringer – stupid, but funny with a cute ending and vague moralisms

And so many other projects going through my head that I can hardly think for five minutes in one direction! Mind you, I’m not complaining. In the words of Kelly Keating (high school swim coach): “The more you do, the more you can do!”

I’m HOME! Feels so good to be back in GA, where it’s warm, sunny and familiar. Got in last night at about 4:30am and slept in today till 11, and we have my younger sister’s graduation at 4:00. Another busy day. And work starts tomorrow. Somehow, though, doesn’t matter how busy I am, because it’s just so wonderful to be home.
