Weekend’s over . . . But only four more days and I’ll be livin’ it up in Chicago!

The weekend involved a trip to the zoo….

…hot but mostly entertaining…I liked the pandas

a couple of movies — Reign of Fire (off and on), Click (new Adam Sandler movie), and I tried to watch Bruce Almighty last night but fell into much-needed sleep. Lots of amusing family bickering, but all in all it went well.

AND, to quote a worthy man,

“Isn’t the reformed faith grand?”

It’s Wednesday, beautiful outside, and I wish I could be out there!

No complaints, though. I have tomorrow off and Friday will be the beginning of an awesome weekend.

This post used to be the results of a political positioning quiz. I removed it because I didn’t like the results. I’m not a fascist….

It smells gorgeous outside.

Of course, anything is better than copier toner, iodine and whatever the nurses use to clean those exam rooms that smells like it could kill a small animal with one whiff.

As a matter of interest, I do not sleep in my clothes ( often ). But even you can’t deny it — everyone has done it before. Whether you’re 2 or 22, I’m pretty sure everyone has fallen asleep in their clothes at one point in time. So back off. It’s harmless and clearly a sign of mental and physical exhaustion. If anything you should be applauding my acute attention to the needs of my body . . . or at least pitying my increasing inability to stay up past 10:00 (…turning into my mother, slowly but surely . . . not necessarily a bad thing). Anyhow, sleep is almost always justifiable. I shouldn’t even have to defend myself on this one…

Coffee is like my speed.

I’ll do okay with a couple of days off the caffeine but the second it gets back into my system I start moving about ten times faster. The hand tremor gets annoying, but it’s better than falling asleep on the job.

        An excerpt from one of my very favourite poems, Jehovah Tsidkenu by
        Robert M. McSheyne:

* * *
. . .When free grace awoke me, by light from on high,
Then legal fears shook me, I trembled to die;
No refuge, no safety in self could I see, –
Jehovah Tsidkenu my Saviour must be.

My terrors all vanished before the sweet name;
My guilty fears banished, with boldness I came
To drink at the fountain, life-giving and free, –
Jehovah Tsidkenu is all things to me . . .

I also found out it can be sung to the tune of the hymn “My Jesus I Love Thee”, also known as “Gordon” by Adoniram J. Gordon.
