Sometimes I wish I could go back to high school . . . knowing what I do now. I guess things probably wouldn’t be very different. But maybe I would have taken advantage of situations in a different way. But probably not. So many things in life are situational . . . and ‘what ifs’ are always  a waste of time and energy. But that doesn’t mean they don’t creep up every once in a while.

Ohhhh yesssss! Shakespeare in the Arb: DONE! Art History: DONE!

Anything left to do is almost trivial in comparison to finishing 3 of my 4 exams and having the play out of the way. Yes, there minor things left to complete, but at least now I can truly appreciate the fact that the year is coming to a beautiful, blooming end and I have an incredible summer (and fall!) ahead of me. OH joy. Oh LIFE.

[Mind you, this is the first time I’ve had caffeine in at least a week or so and I can feel my fingers buzzing–literally buzzing. Is that unnatural?]

I can’t wait for tomorrow night. I can’t wait for Thursday. I can’t wait to be home. It’s a good thing I’m patient.

The play went pretty well yesterday. Have it again today at 2pm. Not to mention an Art History exam at 8am tomorrow morning that I am not quite prepared for. Religion journals still to turn in. Ballet exam and photography review on Tuesday. I’m hardly packed–and I have to get absolutely everything out of this room.

I fell asleep last night with the lights on and I hadn’t even changed out of what I was wearing during the day. And it was only 10:30. I don’t think I’m exhausted, really, I just like to sleep and it seemed a  much better option than staying up to study or, worse, going out. Needless to say, I awoke this morning much refreshed  . . . at least until I realized exactly what I have to finish before I’m free to enjoy the end of the school year. It’s almost here. Just a play, two exams, sculpture casting, photography review, and packing to finish!

By the way, I am not complaining. Life is good.

Psalm 28:7

i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky;and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's birthday;this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings:and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any--lifted from the no
of allnothing--human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened

I need a (summer) job! [And eventually a real one, too. Maybe.]

I’ve sent my application to numerous locales (mainly PR/Communications depts at various firms/hospitals/places that need that sort of thing) and have even applied at the local clothiers but it just seems like no one wants to employ a poor college student for the summer. Maybe I’m aiming too high? All I really want is experience in my field. How in the world am I supposed to get a job after I finish school when all of these places ask for 2-5 years experience? How do you get experience when you can’t even get a job to begin with? Guess my resume needs some buffing up. Is it really too much to ask for a paid internship? You’d think they’d at least like someone running around making copies and retreiving coffee–I’m sure I could be good at that if they paid me enough.

I didn’t think I had it that bad . . . I mean I’ve been working at least since the age of 12 (babysitting, of course) and I’ve had a legitimate job since 16. Had a job–or two or three–through both years of college so far, as well as summer jobs for the past 5 years (or so). I’m just hoping there’s some magical transformation that occurs upon acheiving my degree that will make me more desirable . . .

*EDIT* 1:22pm

‘In this infinitude of moments, who is to say what is worth knowing and whether or not we are able to truly know it?

Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts which, through Thy bounty, we are about to receive through Christ, our Lord, Amen.’
