Is it really Wednesday already? Sometimes it’s so hard just to take each day for what it’s worth! When you get into such a regular schedule, you just go from class to class, not even thinking about the time that is passing. Well, I’ve been trying to focus on that lately. Trying to remember what it was when I was younger that made days seem endless. Given, it probably had something to do with an inability to read a clock or understand the use of time-tracking devices. Perhaps that is why, which each passing year, time seems to go by faster. The more I understand about what goes on around me, the more I assume and therefore the more I take for granted. By taking time for granted are we allowing it to slip through our fingers? This reminds me of the character in Catch-22, can’t recall his name at the moment, but he would do all sorts of incredibly boring things, just so that he could get the feeling that he was living longer–cheating time, in a way, by constantly yearning for time to go faster and in doing so causing it to mentally slow down. The problem is that I’ve actually tried this method. Frankly, however, I continue to find that no matter what situation I’m in, I always seem to be able to find something enjoyable about it. I figure if I’m doing it, then I should be taking it for what it’s worth, whatever that may be…..well, I think I’ve rambled long enough on this topic. If you decided to read it, it’s probably already taken minutes of time out of your life! You’d better hurry and go do something productive!! ![]()
Much love to all.
Worked out with Stacy and Elizabeth tonight. That was fun. The endorphins have kept
me awake this long. I’ll definitely sleep well tonight. Also, just
finished watching “Say Anything” with Vanessa. A John Cusack film.
Writing late at night is badtimes. Incomplete sentences. And I just
took some benadryl. But I have to get up early to finish my Figure
Drawing assignment. I think I’ll go to breakfast for the first time
this semester. Looking forward to it.
Mondays are always so busy,
but this one has been good. Hope everyone’s week has gotten off to a
good start. Much love. ![]()
I wrote this a while ago, actually. But on a day like today–with the
snow falling in earnest, as if to make up for the days of thaw–it
somehow seems appropriate.
She, Lonely
Not often, ever so rarely
little flakes from out her window
loft and settle, but just barely
on the icy panes.
There they rest— and peaceful
In the solace of her room
But she, lonely and still grateful,
keeps the curtains straight.
Yet, alone and Single-minded
Dreaming– lost in Selfish threads
Of cotton thoughts, ill-founded–
Still she knits alone.
A mess of snow-swept ragged sheets
She rests—a fallen head
in white and frozen hands.
Also: I’m really enjoying Don Quixote (so far).
And finally: Love to all!!
