Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, green is for Catholics and orange is for Protestants…but I’m Episcopalian, which is the Protestant Catholic, and my Irish side is Catholic…and I don’t like the color orange…so I go green anyway.

So you are going to celebrate the holiday of someone who doesn’t deserve to be venerated? So there should be no holiday and you should have no right to celebrate it. Yeah. . .take that you Prot. Just kidding, hehe. Actually, I’m not.

Ahh, the glory of SAINT Patrick. You know what he did? He went to Ireland and converted all the hethens who didn’t believe in God. He wasn’t even Irish, he was English, but he still converted the druids to the one true church of Christ. That would have been (and will always be…) the Roman Catholic Church. I could go on for hours about him and many other saints, but I won’t now. I’m not sure where I was going with this, but I’m saying that St. Patrick was someone to look up to, even if you don’t venerate him. Which, might I add, is something totally different than worshipping him. But either way, Saints were cool dudes. And besides, I have heard Protestants refer to “St” John and “St” Augustine. Why not “St” Patrick? And why not “Sts” in general?
Boy do I love the Church.
(That’s big C, not little c, because the Church is just more than a building. It is the Body of Christ, sanctified through the Communion of…Saints).
So hooray for the Irish and hooray for the Council of Trent….among other things.
