I don’t even know why I’m bringing this up right now, but I was
going through my e-mails and found this picture. Miss you Andrew!!!

In lieu of good memories, here’s another great pic:

I miss you too, Karen, and I’ll miss having you as my roommate next semester! Much love!!

So I’ve spent most of today cleaning, doing laundry
and trying to clear useless stuff off my laptop….and going through my
old high school yearbooks. The conclusion is: I was (or, let’s face it,
still AM) a big dork. haha And I can say that with very little shame. I
enjoyed all four of my high school years, even though I was less
socially adept than the normal 14-17 year old (as going through
my  yearbooks just reminded me). No regrets there. I still have
the greatest friends and the funniest memories that now make me laugh
more at their stupidity than at their true hilarity. Doesn’t matter
though. That’s what memories are for, right? So a big hug to all
you folks who carried me through those years at Lovett. I’m sure I’ll
be seeing y’all soon (or at least I’d better be)!!!

And, of course, love to those from Hillsdale too. 🙂

And in the words of Mitch Hedberg : “Popsicles are for summertime.”

never woulda guessed . . .

Scarlett OHara from Gone With the Wind
You are Scarlett O’Hara. You are beautiful,
stubborn and despise the silly rules of
society. When times get rough, you are strong
enough to survive, although you would rather
save yourself than anyone else.

Which Character from ‘Gone With The Wind’ are you?

oh wait….did I just prove that you really CAN put pictures on your xanga?!?! yes. I think so.

Just got back from the *opera* with my mother and sisters. It was quite
lovely. I fell in love with the tenor when he sang La Fleur from Carmen
. . . . just beautiful. So that was a fun experience. I think I’m
finally beginning to settle into my summer. Spending last night with
friends was a LOT of fun and I’m glad I got the chance to do that
before I started despairing that my social life was beyond repair. Now
the trick is to get together with people often enough to keep me from
hermitage but not so often that I become jaded by the many freedoms of
summertime. It has taken me till now to recognize that I can do things
almost any night of the week instead of just on the weekends now.
Oh and I also made my first real foray into a
Starbucks…where I actually bought and consumed something
coffee-related. The background to that story is that b.c. (before
college) I did not like coffee at all.
But then somehow…magically…after a couple months at school, I
suddenly started liking coffee and drinking it of my own free will. And
I even prefer it black, unlike many coffee drinkers of the
“acquired-taste persuasion” who drink it for caffeine’s sake with
plenty of cream and sugar. So anyhow, that’s a big ol’ thang. Never
before entered a Starbuck’s or [insert other coffee chain here] and now
I have. One more thing checked off on my list of activities for the
summer. Make that two, because of the opera experience.

Out to dinner and a movie with the old crew. Pictures shall be taken.
Stories shall be shared. Goodtimes shall be had by all. The end.
