Alabama Court of Civil Appeals Judge Glenn Murdock testified on
Jordan’s behalf, describing him as a man of rigid character who
respects authority and doesn’t bend the rules.

“I don’t think God’s made a straighter arrow than Bert Jordan,” Murdock said.

When asked by a reporter if Bert had any advice to give others after living through such an ordeal, Bert answered  “Read/know your Shakespeare.”

Perhaps somewhat obtuse, but instructive nonetheless.
