Ah, the clever guile of the fatal temptress . . .

Another slow day at Carmike Cinemas for the attentive worker (i.e. a customer actually had to tap the glass to get my attention, I was so engrossed in my book). I sorta felt like a caged animal in a zoo, I should have a sign that says: **Please do not tap glass or feed Carmike employee. If annoyed, may become violent**
But, they did send me home early, initially to my slight chagrin, but in the end, great joy. As much as a the extra fifteen dollars would have helped, I never mind being set free on a beautiful afternoon to attend to my own devices.
I ended up buying buttons (for a sweater,of course) at Walmart, and the movie Quest for Camelot–a cheesy Warner Bros. animated film…the title says it all. The evening will be filled with the details of packing, reading, and dreading my orthodontist appointment tomorrow <gag>.

Have you ever looked into the sky on a cloudy day and seen a break in the clouds where light cannot help but burst through–pouring through a sliver where the grayness would not hold–and imagined that with the golden streams of light a sudden trumpet blast would call you home to heaven?

Slow days in the box office give me lots of time to think . . . and read. Current reading listed above; another recall from my 5th grade days, but little did I know (until recently) that this book is accompanied by an entire series. Woohoo! More childhood memories. 🙂

Just six days till I go back to Hillsdale and I’m still not sure if I’m quite ready for what will come after…. but I suppose it doesn’t matter whether I’m ready or not.

Sad times at the theater, with everyone leaving and going back to school. It’s quite a soap-opera-ish place (including it’s very own Phantom). Two couples began dating just last week. It seems funny to me that people would begin a relationship over popcorn and sticky drink-cups, but then again who am I to talk. I’ve gained a few friends (Facebook is forever… ) and a lot of funny/strange memories of working with the quarky staff of Carmike Cinemas, Riverstone 15, of whom I am now an official member. Nobody said you had to be weird when you were hired, but it’s inevitable that your weird side will be evident by the time you leave.

Happy Sunday to all and to all a good day.

It’s a new year. Everybody’s changing and I don’t feel the same.

I had a dream last night that I was actually in Narnia, except it was a different sort of Narnia. I was at a conference of sorts and Aslan was speaking (go figure…). I expected to hear something spectactular, but it was like every time I started to listen I was distracted by something else. Life analogy, possibly? It is often interesting/disturbing how comparable dreams can be to real life situations, even though the dream might involve Narnia….or dancing Cheerios…you know, whichever works.

New Year’s Resolution? Well, it really never changes.

Q: What is the chief end of man?
A: To glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

“You would not have called to me unless I had been calling to you,” said the Lion.

Trying to get back in the swing of being at home and working at the
theater again. There’s way too much going on in these next two days
what with All Saint’s practice tonight for the Christmas Eve services
and Abigail’s Christmas Deb Ball tomorrow night. Changing my work
schedule after just approving it is going to be a slight hassle….wish
I had remembered those things on Friday night… :-\

Only a week left till Christmas though and that is pretty exciting
considering that it also means about a week till my grandparents’ 50th
anniversary party when I will get to see most of the extended family
(and wear a pretty dress ).
