So I’ve decided that in my ideal future, I will be settled down in a
quaint small town probably very much like Hillsdale with nice long
streets lined with cute houses and beautiful trees; it will probably be
a college town (because there’s always LOTS of activity….so it won’t
get too boring, of course ). Preferably it will be somewhere in the
South, but if not, I suppose I could survive. This was all decided
today as I was walking to my Sculpture class at a blithe 2:30 in the
afternoon on this gorgeous fall day. The weather has been so beautiful
here lately, but it’s more than that. Hillsdale is so peaceful.
Frankly, I love it. A visitor even commented to me today (as I was
walking into the bookstore on an errand) that this is one of the
quietest college campuses he has been on. It’s not that Hillsdale is
dead or that the students are lifeless, it’s just that it is so
peaceful….even stress can take a momentary pause when you look at the
sky and see how blue it is. And that’s about it
