I love Georgia summer nights. The air is
warm and the sky is a deep
prussian blue, but the trees are so black you can still see them
standing
against the sky. And I love my back yard. The only thing missing is
telepathy, so that I can talk to all the people I love and miss while
sitting in my backyard enjoying this very summer evening. Wouldn’t it
be nice to talk to anyone you wanted whenever you
wanted? It’s probably a good thing that’s only possible to do with God,
otherwise we might just make a mess of it…in fact, I’m pretty sure we
would.
Oh well. My recovery has been quick, thanks to many
antibiotics and painkillers (it pays to have a father who is a doctor
) but I’m still enjoying just chilling at home. I am hoping to hear
from the places I applied to work pretty soon though. I need money!
Plus, I want to start painting at the studio again. Looks like this
summer might just turn out ok…..Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise
(as they say here in the Southlands)
I find myself reverting very quickly to
my old introverted ways. It doesn’t take much….I guess once you’re
removed from the situation that forces you into being sociable, you fit
just as comfortably back into the place where you started. The only
difference now is the constant memory of the things I’ve experienced
and the people I’ve met and shared time with since last summer.
I’m looking forward to just enjoying this time to get back to my roots,
in a sense, because I’m pretty sure that I need it. It does seem
strange now, though, to be sitting in the very same places that I was
before going to college and yet, in some ways, to be a very different
person. Not that I have changed at the core–it’s more about
experience. I almost can’t believe that a whole year has passed–but
I’m really not sure if it seems like it has been longer or shorter. I
can’t imagine not knowing the people I do now and yet at the same time
I can’t forget my high school friends and experiences because they
were really such a short time ago.  Alllllrighty then….. I think I’m beginning to
ramble….must be the drugs. haha Oh well, that means I’m off to
bed! Night chillens!
