About the Blog…
I originally started this blog after moving to Chicago as a newlywed, and it was formerly known as “Real Housewife of Chicago”. After nearly 6 fun-filled years in Chicago, we decided it was time for a change. In 2014, my husband, newborn son and I packed up and moved to northwestern Indiana, bought a house and began enjoying our new life in the “country”. Hubby grew up in the area, so it was moving “back home” him, and most of his family is still in the area. This was the beginning of a new chapter for me in the Hoosier state, and so my blog became the Hoosier Homemaker!
More about me…
I grew up just north of Atlanta, Georgia, and am pretty proud of my Southern roots. Even after over 15 years of living in the Midwest, I’m here to confirm that you can take the girl out of the South, but you can’t take the South out of the girl! I have been married for almost 12 years to my college sweetheart. Our son Cormac was born in November 2013, we welcomed daughter Moira in January 2016, and little sister Reagan arrived November of 2017. Our youngest sweet babe, Maeve, was born March 2020, and she is such a joyful addition to our crew!
I am a work-from-home mom and love that I can pursue my freelance graphic and web design business while also caring for my children. I use this blog to write about some pretty random stuff including (but not limited to): living in the Midwest/Indiana, being a wife/mother, design/art/photography, working from home & freelancing, my family, my faith, my fashion, and plenty of other topics. It is primarily a catalog for my own reference, but I’d love to grow my readership and inspire conversation in the blogosphere!
