Bathing suit shopping is the absolute worst way to end an already bad
day. And that is my conclusion. Also, that I am a stupid-head. And
perhaps a lie-face.

So work today started out not so bad . . . but got progessively worse
because not only was I working with some folks that were not very fun
but also the power went off at about 6:00 and stayed off for the next
hour or so. Which meant angry movie-goers and lots of refunds. Yuck.
But I did end up getting off a half-hour early.

But then I come home with a message for me from the mother of the
children whose portraits I’m supposed to be working on. So I call her
back to let her know they’re not gonna be finished on time because of
my work hours (which are all day almost every day and leave no time
–right now anyway– for extra stuff). So I call and stupidly leave a
message on her home answering machine, completely forgetting that this
whole portrait thing is a surprise for her husband’s birthday, not
realizing that he would probably hear the message and discover the
secret gift. And he did. Now I feel incredibly bad because not only
did I ruin the surprise (all because of my lack of forethought) but
it’s also not gonna be ready in time for his birthday because we’re
going on vacation next week and I definitely won’t be able to work on
it then. So boo to ALL of THAT.

And then I decide to go find a new bathing suit for this vacation that
we’re taking and that was just about the worst idea ever. Bathing suit
shopping is depressing (for me anyway) and the only reason I had
forgotten that is because while living in a frozen tundraland for the
past nine months (aka Michigan) it had slipped my mind that such a
thing as bathing suit season even existed!!!!

To top it off, my back really hurts and a massage is the only thing I
really want right now. In retrospect, this day would have been better
if I hadn’t made some stupid choices. But I can look forward to the
lovely feeling that is lying in my bed and savouring the summer night
sounds and listening to Iron & Wine. Yes. That is nice. Goodnight.

Michigan the frozen tunda? Wow, it seemed like a balmy wetland to me, but then again, I am from Minnesota.

Well, thanks for leaving a message on my blog. I hope you have a great weekend!
