I need a (summer) job! [And eventually a real one, too. Maybe.]
I’ve sent my application to numerous locales (mainly PR/Communications depts at various firms/hospitals/places that need that sort of thing) and have even applied at the local clothiers but it just seems like no one wants to employ a poor college student for the summer. Maybe I’m aiming too high? All I really want is experience in my field. How in the world am I supposed to get a job after I finish school when all of these places ask for 2-5 years experience? How do you get experience when you can’t even get a job to begin with? Guess my resume needs some buffing up. Is it really too much to ask for a paid internship? You’d think they’d at least like someone running around making copies and retreiving coffee–I’m sure I could be good at that if they paid me enough. ![]()
I didn’t think I had it that bad . . . I mean I’ve been working at least since the age of 12 (babysitting, of course) and I’ve had a legitimate job since 16. Had a job–or two or three–through both years of college so far, as well as summer jobs for the past 5 years (or so). I’m just hoping there’s some magical transformation that occurs upon acheiving my degree that will make me more desirable . . .

Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts which, through Thy bounty, we are about to receive through Christ, our Lord, Amen.’

The funeral is on Saturday. The evensong choir will be singing for the funeral so I have to be there at 2 but Katie won’t because she has her senior voice recital that day. Hope exams are going well. Love ya lotrs and can’t wait to see you!
