Do you ever wish that you had more time to pursue things that you love? Do you ever feel guilty about taking time for yourself? Do you feel like you’ve become the last priority in your own life?
If you’ve said yes to any of these things, then The Fringe Hours is for you. Jessica Turner, founder of The Mom Creative has surveyed more than 2,000 women from all 50 states to help her write, The Fringe Hours.
You’ve probably heard of Jessica before. Do you remember the post, Put on that Swimsuit? It was a post that went viral, like on The Today Show viral!
The Fringe Hours quite simply, is going to be one of the best books of 2015.
I really enjoyed reading this book because I feel like I’ve taken the back seat since having 3 kids in 4 years. I’m constantly thinking about other people. My husband, the kids, cleaning the house, doing the laundry, (folding it and putting it away, now that’s another story!) and making food that everyone will eat.
- “As women, we are nurturers by nature, and we often put others before ourselves. However, that natural instinct doesn’t mean we shouldn’t value ourselves”
This book gave me the permission to take time for myself and not feel guilty. One of the top responses of the survey as to why women don’t take time for themselves was guilt. I was one of those women who used to feel guilty, but not anymore.
I learned that I shouldn’t feel guilty for taking time for me. If I’m happier, then my husband and children are happier. If I’m being filled, I can fill others. When I take time for me, I’m a better wife and mom, hands down.
One reason why I wasn’t getting my, “fringe hours”, was because I failed to plan it. So, my husband and I decided that I would get 1 night a week for me, no questions asked. Can I just tell you what a huge difference this has made! When I have time for me, I come home refreshed, relaxed, and ready to take on a new day.
This book is for every woman, let alone mom who needs guilt free, “me time.” Jessica does a great job at showing you how to carve out fringe hours to make you a happier woman, wife, and mother.
