My name is Heather, and I’m so happy to meet you! I’m a homemaker to 3 littles (1, 3, and 5) and a wife to a Farmboy who is cleverly disguised as a mechanical engineer. We recently moved back to Indiana where we grew up and are getting ready to build our home in the country.
A little bit about me
- I met my Farmboy on our family boat. You see, one of my older brothers had this friend and he had a wakeboard. Our family had the boat, I had the bikini, and he had the wakeboard. End of story. A couple of years later, we got married and we recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary!
- For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be 2 things: a mommy and a teacher. After I recieved my degree in Elementary Education, we quickly found out we were expecting. I couldn’t wait to finally become a mommy! But here’s the thing, I honestly had no idea how difficult it was to be a stay at home mom. There I said it! You guys, being a homemaker is not for the faint of heart. Its not easy the first few months: the sleep deprivation, the late night feedings (I lovingly named our daughter the barracuda baby), and recovering from a cesarean about did me in.
- I was pregnant or nursing for nearly 6 years. I know how difficult it can be to take a shower or even a coveted hot bath without interruption. Our kids though, let me tell you, they’re the life of the party. Our lives are so much richer because of them, and we firmly believe that they are each a gift from God.
- We’re a frugal family. We’ve had some lean years and had to rely on God to supply our needs. We learned how to live on a rice and beans budget and how to stretch our meals to make them go further. I was always looking for new ways to be creative on our tight budget and searching for the do-it-yourself version on Pinterest. During this time, I was intentional about staying on our budget so that I could stay at home with our littles. I can’t wait to share some of our favorite tips and tricks with you!
